It took several tries with different AVIs, but I finally managed an improvement over my original image.ġ11111111111111111111111111111After running an AVI through Castrator, stacking in Autostakkert, and then processing with wavelets in Registax 6, I get a return of the dreaded onion rings. I started off with some of my Jupiter AVIs and derotation experiments in WinJupos. I found an improvement in quality first noted with the mono Toucam, not that much difference with the DMK, but another improvement once starting with the Lumenera. They have a special pricing for the standalone and plug-in which I almost went with, but not sure if it would work in my Photoshop sub, Affinity Photo. Of course, the FIT or TIFF at those levels that it creates may or may not work in my other software as I found out. Has wavelets, deconvolution, etc as well as 32 bit FIT and 96 bit TIFF among other things. Sort of awkward to use, but if adjusted properly it can nearly mask out all of the ringing without compromising appearance too much. If I stuck with gaussian, I could also make them somewhat disappear by adjusting denoise, sharpen and also the slider for layer 1. I found that if I went back to default instead of gaussian, the rings didnt show but then again this was from 32 bit fits created in Autostakkert. Makes me wonder if it is Registax 6 Frustrating, especially after a real good focused session of frames. However, if I first stack in Autostakkert, the rings are greatly reduced when wavelets then applied. Registax 6 seems to bring in bad rings on wavelet use and videos of this type (underexposed). I dont know for certain, but planets I processed from that time didnt seem to have them. Use Registax 6 Software Processing Solution.
